Oklahoma 3A Boys Cross Country Rankings: Week 4 (Sept. 28, 2026)
Week 4 of the Oklahoma high school cross country rankings is out (posted Sept. 28 on ohstrack.com), and the Class 3A boys gave us everything: a runaway team favorite, a one-man army, and a spreadsheet error that made it all the way to publication.
Lincoln Christian is the team to beat, and it’s about depth
The Crusaders hold the #1 spot with four individually ranked runners: Ty Brooks (#2, 15:50), Noah Caughey (#3, 16:04), Benjamin Bouldin (#16, 17:20) and Landon Durborow (#22, 17:46). That’s the formula. You don’t need the fastest kid in the state when your fourth man would be most teams’ number one.
Now the controversial part
Spiro is ranked #19. Spiro is also ranked #25. Read that again. And the #25 slot — listed under the Spiro name — shows Morgan Allstat of Heavener as its ranked individual. So either Spiro has figured out how to enter two teams in the same poll, or somebody’s spreadsheet had a rough Sunday night.
We’re told these rankings are compiled by volunteer contributors, and we believe it — this has “copy-paste at 11pm” written all over it. Genuinely no disrespect to the volunteers; it’s a thankless job. But if we’re going to argue about these rankings all season, the rankings should at least argue with themselves a little less.
The Eubank show at Dickson
Landon Eubank ran 15:40 — the fastest 3A time on the board — and his brother Parker sits #8 at 16:51. Dickson the team is ranked #7. That’s cross country’s cruelest math: two brothers can win you headlines, but it takes five to win a meet. If Dickson finds three more runners by late October, the rest of 3A should be nervous.
Don’t sleep on Sequoyah Tahlequah
Ranked #2 as a team with four individuals in the top 19 (Jaxson Osburn #13, Chujah Flute #15, Matthew Vann #18, Evan Nofire #19). No superstars, no drama — just a pack that shows up every week. That’s the profile of a team that ruins somebody’s state meet.
Chisholm holds #3, led by Miles Occhiuzzo at #4 (16:13), with Chase Naugle (#9) and Ayden Conrady (#21) in support. Solid, balanced, and probably tired of hearing about Lincoln Christian.
We’ll be going class by class as the season rolls toward the state meet. Next up: more rankings, more takes, and hopefully one fewer Spiro.
