Oklahoma 4A Cross Country Final Rankings 2016: Lincoln Christian's Sweep

The October 17th, 2016 4A polls were united: Metro Christian No. 1 on both sides. The state meet was equally united in disagreeing: Lincoln Christian won both sides. When the ballot goes 0-for-2 on champions, you don’t have a ranking — you have a coin flip with letterhead.

Girls’ poll, October 17th: Metro Christian, Plainview, Lincoln Christian, Kingfisher, Weatherford. State: Lincoln Christian 66, Metro Christian 86. The champion was the poll’s No. 3; the runner-up was the poll’s No. 1 — a straight swap at the top.

Boys’ poll, October 17th: Metro Christian, Bethany, Lincoln Christian, Weatherford, Byng. State: Lincoln Christian 57, Metro Christian 80. Same story, wider margin: the poll’s No. 3 beat the poll’s No. 1 by 23 points.

Weatherford’s Maicie Brown won the girls’ individual title; Berryhill’s Daniel Mazzei won the boys’ crown.

Both 4A polls had Metro Christian on top; both state meets had Lincoln Christian on top — the poll was 0-for-2 on champions, a perfect record if you read it backwards.
