Oklahoma 6A Cross Country Final Rankings 2017: Norman's Girls and Bartlesville's Boys, Just Like the Poll Ordered

The October 11th, 2017 6A polls were almost eerily accurate: Norman’s girls on top, Bartlesville’s boys on top, and the state meet nodded along on both sides. It’s the kind of year that makes you suspicious — polls aren’t supposed to be this well-behaved. But the numbers are the numbers.
Girls’ poll, October 11th: Norman, Bartlesville, Deer Creek, Owasso, Jenks. State: Norman 52, Bartlesville 70. The poll’s 1-2 held in order, 18 points apart. A clean, professional, controversy-free confirmation.
Boys’ poll, October 11th: Bartlesville, Deer Creek, Norman, Owasso, Edmond Memorial. State: Bartlesville 64, Edmond Memorial 100. The champion was the poll’s No. 1; the runner-up was the poll’s No. 5 — the one wrinkle in an otherwise tidy year.
Bartlesville’s Rilee Rigdon won the girls’ individual title; Edmond Memorial’s Jed Helker won the boys’ crown — a champion from the runner-up team, which is exactly the kind of thing that keeps the team race honest.
2017 6A was orderly — the poll’s top two finished top two on both sides. Suspiciously well-behaved, but we’ll take it.
